Halfway Mark of our Season!

That’s right- summer is flying by and we’re already at our halfway point of the season. That means we have 11 markets left- 11 more weeks where we have easily accessible local produce and have our refrigerators filled with things like tomatoes, melons, eggs, fish, and meat. 11 more weeks to have an area to gather with our friends, listen to live music, support our local farmers, and bring the kiddos to be a part of stimulating activities. 11 more weeks- it’ll pass by before we know it. I expect to see all of you South Coast veggie lovin rascals at the rest of the markets!

Since it is our halfway mark of the season, we thought we would provide you all with lots of different vendors to choose from. We have Blue House Farm and Fly Girl Farm rocking the double stands filled with every color imaginable. Tomatoes are here and it’s time to start canning! Sauces, salsas, pastes… it always seems like a lot of work, but I’m always SO happy to have those things through the winter. There will be summer squash, pardon peppers, beans, beans, beans, broccoli, cauliflower, berries galore, and the prettiest flower bouquets I’ve ever seen. Now Farmageddon I have a sweet spot for because they bring the eggs! Chicken, duck, and goose eggs- if you’ve never tried a duck or goose egg, they’re super rich and honestly my favorite thing sold at the market.

Bringing the protein will be Left Coast GrassFed. They always bring a variety of different cuts (that grazed only a mile down the road.) I personally love the skirt steaks. Then lastly, Stuckey’s Sustainable Fish will be joining us. They just wrote me telling me some of the fish they will be bringing which includes: local white sea bass, halibut, yellow tail, and of course SALMON- king salmon, coho, and sock eye will be available (unless mother nature has another idea.) If you want to preorder your fish to make sure it will be at the market, you can call 650-290-8191 and leave a message by Wednesday. Another good idea is to get to the market early or people like the market manager might get to the best stuff first…

It’s the week before school starts for some and we snuck in one of our favorite teachers/musicians just in the nick of time. The John Henry Band will be returning to provide some tunes. Joining him is local Rob Christian who will be playing the stand up bass and he told me there’s a possibility that a fiddler might join them.

La Honda local, Liz Gatt, will be returning to the market to take on children activities. Last time she came she was a hit making jellyfish out of cups and paperclips and she ran out of supplies. She told us how much she loves Pintrest and finding fun/creative activities for kiddos and we know she’ll do the that this week as well!

Don’t forget about bringing your bike in for a tune up! We celebrated Every’s birthday last week so if you see her tell her happy late birthday!!

See you this Thursday! Come celebrate what an awesome community we have!!.
